At Home Acne Treatments

Acne usually affects people's skin in their teenage years but some people do experience acne well after their twenties. Primarily caused by hormonal changes, acne often appears with teh onset of puberty. To prevent unsightly marks and scarring the right skin care is need. Although acne mostly appears in the facial area it can often spread to the back and cheat also.

Factors that can contribute to acne are a diet rich in fatty and oily foods plus poor personal hygiene. The fatty and oily foods we consume block the sebum and this is a major cause of acne. Improper hygiene creates less removal of these blockages that are found in acne prone areas. To minimise the occurence of acne it is important to understand the basics of skin care.

Oily and spicy foods can aggravate the acne. Foods that are beneficial for acne are green leafy vegetables, salad vegetables and fruits that have good water content in them. Oil glands are known to be very active around your facial area. Your back has a fewer number of oil glands as compared to your face.

Remember, oil is not moisture, and skin needs moisture. Determining the cause and caring for your type of acne, as well as properly caring for your skin is crucial in curing acne.

Stress reducing activities such as exercising, eating a well-balanced diet and sleeping well boosts the immune system. A diet supplemented with B-Complex, zinc and vitamins C and E likewise enhances the effectiveness of the immune system. Stress in many forms poses as an aggravating factor in acne lesions. Lack of sleep at night, pre-examination tension, any psychological problem that may worry the patient will bring on new acne lesions. Stress includes external and internal stressors. External Stressors are those that compromise your skin's ability to heal, like oily make-up and too much sun.

Bacterial infection on skin pores aggravates acne . Bacteria is organic and thus cannot grow or multiply without the presence of water. This is where mineral makeup plays an almost magical role in curing acne.

Drinking lots of water every day helps prevent disease and other conditions, including, "bad" skin. Not only do we look better, we feel better when we drink our water, and it helps when trying to control excess weight gain. Drinking water is not only a good natural way to clear up your skin, but its good for you and your entire body overall. It doesn't cost and there are no negative reactions because its natural.
